Annapolis recently celebrated the opening of a brand-new Aldi grocery store in the Shoppes at Riva located within the Riva Road corridor. This area has been booming with the construction of new builds, mixed use projects and luxury apartments with both office and retail space. Weisman Electric Company, along with Buch Construction diligently completed this seven-month project in October 2024. It features a streamlined lighting design to maximize efficiency and keep with the store’s modern and minimalistic aesthetic. Aldi started in 1961 with the opening of the world’s first discount grocery store in Germany and has grown to more than 2,000 stores across 36 states with over 25,000 employees to date.
